The news about the hacking of a cryptocurrency platform in Italy does not interrupt the rises in the price of bitcoin.
Less than a week ago, on February 6, the price of bitcoin plunged to new lows since November, even below $ 6,000 . This level represented a collapse of 50% in just over a week, and 70% from the records reached in mid-December.
In the day today bitcoin prolongs its comeback with increases that exceed the double digits at times. The result is intraday highs close to $ 9,000 .
In less than a week the cryptocurrency has climbed close to 50%. In terms of capitalization, this comeback is translated into an increase in its value close to 50,000 million dollars , from the 100,000 million that it touched in its recent minimums.
Investors have slowed down the prevailing bearish spiral since the bitcoin touched $ 20,000 in its mid-December records. Since then, the collection of benefits has skyrocketed amidst the largest regulatory fence proposed in its main markets.
Scandals over the 'hacking' of several cryptocurrency trading platforms have aggravated misgivings about digital currency investment in recent months.
The last of these 'hacks' has been the Italian Bitgrail platform . At the end of January he interrupted his activity, alleging technical problems. Last Friday issued a statement in which he confirmed that he had suffered a hack that included theft of money, so he had informed the police to initiate the relevant investigation.
The upward shift in the price of bitcoin from the lows recorded at the beginning of last week has coincided with the hopes of a 'favorable' regulation in the United States to stop the crash suffered by bitcoin.
The US Senate is debating the possibility of introducing specific legislation that allows both reducing the extreme volatility of cryptocurrencies and restricting their use by scammers and members of organized crime.
